This is being made possible with a little bit of help from wireless distribution specialist Brightstar. If this is true then this could potentially be great news for those looking to get their hands on the latest iPhone model. The iPhone is one of the most expensive smartphones on the market and naturally the latest iPhone 5 is the dearest. Many people are holding off on purchasing the iPhone 5 because it is around eight months old at this stage but Apple thinks otherwise and with Brightstar on board to help with their exchange program, Apple will be looking to get as many iPhone 5s into people hands before the next generation model arrives later this year. The shelf life of the iPhone seldom exceeds twelve months and with WWDC just around the corner, consumers know that getting an iPhone 5 at this point in time could see it trumped in a matter of just a few months. Apple is however hoping that with the trade-in program, people will decide to get their hands on a newer device. As always, Apple hasn't officially stated that this is what they plan to do but with WWDC only a couple of days away, we won't have long to wait to find out anyway. I mean 180 g). You should see the size of the smartphones in the Korean drama and the Korean actress was carrying, slightly smaller than the iPad mini! Personally, I like to have a bigger yet still manageable screen. Easy on the eyes and ability to do real multi-tasking. I use the phone to see/read/play more than I talk now. IOS 6 has been downloaded and installed in record numbers and at a rate of 122% when compared with iOS 5. These figures are amazing and we are sure that the likes of Siri for iPad, Facebook integration and Passbook have helped persuade some of those who may have had reservations. One of the apps that have probably prevented more users from upgrading their firmware is likely to be Apple's new Maps offering. Apple in providing their 3D mapping app has really underestimated people's reliability on the native Maps service and if they had of been aware of this the current backlash may have been prevented. We have spent some time looking at the new iPhone 5 and we have to say that we are very impressed with the new hardware even if the software is taking a bashing. Google's Maps app may not have been exceptional but it did a good job and despite 3D mapping and turn by turn navigation from Apple's new Maps service, we can say that many iDevice users will probably continue to use Google Maps when it comes to a reliable service. That is of course unless Apple put the effort in and create a Maps app that really does work. The YouTube app that was ditched as a native offering with iOS 6 has been significantly improved and is now even better than ever so we think that most iPhone and iPad users running iOS 6 will be holding out more hope for somethign similar in the mapping department. Apple has promised that they it will update and improve the Maps offering but we feel that they will have to do this very quickly indeed if they are to convince users that scrapping the old Google Maps was the right decision. In summary, it is safe to say that Apple are going to be pleased with the high adoption rate that iOS 6 has achieved but there is still a lot of work to be done if this launch is to be as successful as they were hoping.

Sept. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Apple Inc. said pre-orders of its iPhone 5 topped 2 million units in one day, more than double the sales record set by the previous model iPhone 4S. Because demand for the iPhone 5 exceeds the initial supply, some pre-orders will be delivered to customers in October, rather than September as previously planned, Cupertino, California-based Apple said today in a statement. Most orders will be delivered on Sept. 21, Apple said. The latest estimate comes from Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster, who in a note to investors today says that at best Apple will move 8 million to 10 million iPhones, and at worst, 6 million. The numbers will get interesting when Apple reveals the number of device that have been purchased directly from stores around the world also. The new iPhone 5 is powered by the new A6 processor and this makes it the most powerful mobile device around in terms of performance. It is even more powerful than the Galaxy S III, the Nexus 7 and the iPad 3. The iPhone 5 is set to hit the shops on the 21st of September and all pre-orders will begin shipping on this date too. While the LTE is great, the lousy plan in Singapore of 2 GB cap negates it. What's the point, faster but less. GPS companies really have to step up now. Perhaps future GPSes have to plug into your car & drive for you, lol.

This would mean a media event for the new iPhone dubbed the iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini. Gruber has suggested that Apple will first invite shareholders and spectators to a media event that will be about the iPhone 5 and iOS 6. This event is set to be held on the 12th of September and will see the new iPhone 5 being introduced along with the sixth edition of the OS firmware. The iPhone is then expected to be released to the public nine days after this announcement. A couple of weeks later, Gruber reckons that Apple will announce the iPad Mini at its traditional music event in early October. It was originally thought that these two devices would be announced at the same time but now it seems that they will be staggered by about a month. Gruber is well known for his accuracy and given his track record when it comes to Apple gossip we can be pretty sure that there will indeed be two separate events. The smaller iPad which was still doubtful now looks to be a certainty and with price being the key factor this could be one of the most successful gadgets of all time. The Google ASUS Nexus 7 has seen strong sales and great reviews in its first month or two on sale making the iPad�s dominance look set to drop. The introduction of the iPad Mini could change this completely. If Apple can deliver a decent device at an affordable price it could mean game over for other table vendors. One of the main issues that consumers have with iOS devices is the high price tag so if Apple can get the price right on the iPad Mini it could mean big things. As we get closer to September and October, rumors, reports and leaks relating to the next iPhone are becoming more frequent. We have seen images and videos of the next iPhone with its body fully assembled showing a smaller dock connector, a larger more elongated screen and a metal back. The next piece of news that we have received pertains to the next iPhone�s launch window. This news comes courtesy of AppleInsider where they state that they expect Apple to release their next iPhone in September. According to the AppleInsider, Apple�s supply chain is ready for the initial increase in manufacturing, however availability of in-cell touch panels from LG and Sharp may be low due to decreased yield rates. These manufacturers will however be able to supply the touch panels to display manufacturer JDI. Other components like metal and glass casings for the new design and modem chips are also available in good supply. According to the source the leaked images of the next iPhone are very likely authentic. They have also stated that the new design may come with Gorilla Glass for enhanced heat dissipation and improved wireless reception. All this information lines up perfectly with the reports we have been reading from multiple sources that are claiming that the next generation iPhone and perhaps the rumoured iPad Mini will be revealed on the 12th of September. Apple is always very quick to launch their products after they announce them so a launch date during September sounds perfectly reasonable. As yet there is no way of confirming whether the device is currently in production, it would usually start around this time if it is to be ready for a September/October launch. Last year we had the iPhone 4S which is the only device to feature the Siri voice recognition tool and this allowed Apple to really catch in over the holiday period. The next iPhone will want to stay on top too and with a larger screen this really could be the deal breaker. We have no information as yet as to whether the camera will be improved and we will have to wait and see on this. It will also be interesting to see if the processor is improved. A quad-core A6 has been speculated along with the A5X chip seen in the iPad 3. Regardless of whether or not this is an official iPhone 5 part, it definitely does seem to indicate that a larger display is a possibility on the next generation iphone.
