We have been bringing you updates as we have received them but we thought it was high time to let you know exactly what is going on with the iOS 7.1 jailbreak scene. If you are using the Evasi0n 7 untethered jailbreak then you already know not to update your firmware until if you want to keep it and that still remains true. Evasi0n 7 was patched with iOS 7.1 so it is useless if you have updated. What we do know to date is the Winocm posted a YouTube video demonstrating iOS 7.1 untethered boot a good while back and we all became very hopeful that an untethered iOS 7.1 jailbreak was on its way but that didn't happen. The next piece of information that came through was via Twitter where iH8sn0w claimed that his iPhone 4s was currently jailbroken on iOS 7.1 but nothing came of this either. Apple then released iOS 7.1.1 so only devices that were using 7.0.6 or below could avail of a jailbreak. The most exciting piece of news that we have is the i0n1c, Winocm and Yeongjin have all managed to jailbreak iOS 7.1.1 independently. I0n1c's jailbreak is called Cyberelevat0r and it looks promising but as yet we still have no ETA from any of them leaving everyone still hanging. With iOS 8 just around the corner we do have to wonder if these guys will keep everything to themselves and use the exploits that they have found to create a jailbreak for iOS 8 instead. Apple pushed out some significant changes with this new release, but there are some really great lesser-known alterations and additions to this latest version so get ready to sink your teeth into them. Rich Text Support In Notes App The notes app has always been very simple but now there is rich text editing included. All you have to do is select the text you have written and you will be presented with options such as Bold, Italics, Underline, etc. You can also add photos in the Notes app too which is great. Camera and Video App Changes A lot of third party apps have self timers and now it is native to the Camera app via a small button at the top of the interface. Tapping on this button will allow you to set a timer for 3 and 10 seconds. The Camera App has also been given some new features and you can now finely tune exposure and focus. All you have to do is tap and hold to lock your focus onto a particular subject and a simple slide gesture up or down will tweak the exposure. If you enjoy taking videos, you can now tweak the settings for your very own time-lapse videos. All you have to do is swipe all the way left when you are about to record a clip and the interface will pop up allowing you to change settings. Request Desktop Site In Safari Mobile Safari now allows you to load desktop versions of sites so you can now switch to the full site easily. It is one of the things we have been waiting for a long time to see and are delighted that it has eventually arrived. Auto-Delete Messages If you spend all your time texting, this feature is for you. It allows you to stipulate the length of time for which a conversation is stored. This is idea if you find yourself removing messages manually all the time. You can set the threshold to 30 days, one year, or forever and this is done through Settings > Messages > Store Messages. There are a couple of other new features that we have stumbled upon and there are probably many more to be discovered. It has been a big day for iOS and OS X and in this post we bring you a rundown of what has been announced and what you can expect to see in the next couple of days. Apple announced iOS 8 during the opening keynote and this new version comes with much the same interface as last year's iOS 7 but with a lot more to offer. First off there is Interactive Notifications, which means that users can now interact with notifications without having to open any app. Next up we have 3rd party keyboads. The new APIs let third party app developers build new system-wide keyboards for iOS. The popular Swype was shown during the keynote. Another feature is QuickType predictive typing which will now try and predict what you are trying to type and you can tap words to avoid having to type everything. The HealthKit/HomeKit is another feature and Apple has now given makers of health-related hardware as well as those behind home automation a way to tie into iOS via third party apps. This could see us being able to dim lights, lock doors and so much more with the touch of a button. Health-wise, Apple is already working with Nike and others to try and make iOS a hub for health tracking. Siri has also gotten an upgrade and now has Shazam integration. The big news here though is the hands-free invocation of Siri. A simple �Hey Siri� will kick it into gear so there is no need to press any buttons. Messages and Spotlight also got a facelift and the former now has in-line audio and video messages, location sharing and destructible messages. Spotlight can now search online as well as for stuff that is local to your device. OS X 10.10 � YosemiteAlso announced was OS X 10.10 � Yosemite and the features are pretty cool. You will need iOS 8 to take advantage of them but you will definitely be rewarded if you do. Continuity is where the magic really happens with Yosemite and iOS 8. When you have both installed, you'll have AirDrop that works across mobile and Mac, Instant Hotspot and Handoff. This means you will now be able to start an email on one device and then finish it on another. OS X 10.10 Yosemite has also been given a new flatter design that looks truly amazing. The messages app now has SMS messages relayed to it from an iPhone and that goes for calls too, so if someone rings you on your iPhone you will be able to answer it on your Mac. Like iOS 8, Yosemite will have third party widgets in Notification Center and the whole notification panel which has also had a redesign. The Mac now also has iOS's Today view which is home to appointments, reminders and the like. Mail and Safari have also been updated and we are sure you will find plenty more things to enjoy too.iCloud DriveThis is Apple's way of taking on Dropbox and you can think of it as a cross between the iCloud we are all used to and the iDisk that was around when MobileMe was. You'll be able to browser iCloud Drive as if it was a normal folder which his a real game changer. You also get 5GB of storage free, with more available for a price.There were some more announcements that were made and these were aimed at developers. It is safe to say that this has been a really busy WWDC event and there is a lot to digest.
