The beta version of iOS 5 has now been released to registered Apple developers. This new build is expected to include some minor enhancements to the next generation mobile OS. The official release for iOS 5 is expected to be September 2011.

All those who are registered with Apple as developers can now download this new release so that they can provide Apple with feedback on the features of iOS 5. Apple are encouraging all developers to download using the over the air method so that real feedback can be provided on how to improve this feature before the official launch. If you have a jailbroken device you wont be able to use the over the air download method and you will have to download it through Apples developer website.

In order to download the beta version of iOS 5 you need to have an Apple developer account and this costs just $99 per year. iOS 5 was unveiled at the WWDC and has some long awaited new features including a new notification system and an iOS only instant messaging service. There are plenty of other new features also included and this promises to be a great iOS.

Apple has also released a new version of iTunes 10.5 beta which you will need to sync iOS 5 beta devices. Registered developers can download everything they need from the Apple developers website and if you have a developer account you are encouraged to help with this release to ensure that the new version of iOS 5 is as good as it can be.
