Two days after Christmas the iOS community were treated to the release of an untethered jailbreak for all A4 devices running iOS 5.0.1. This jailbreak represented nearly two months of hard work and research by pod2g followed by some great work by the iPhone Dev and Chronic Dev teams to package the jailbreak and make it available to the public.Pod2g has been at it again and this time he tweeted that he has made progress on the A5 jailbreak development and that he expects to see a jailbreak release within a week. This means that all iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners could soon be set free to enjoy all that jailbreaking has to offer including Cydia. This isnt a guarantee that there will be a release next week but at least we have an update on the situation and initial time release estimation. Once everything else goes to plan we should see things happening very quickly.
The Chronic Dev team also tweeted an update and member p0sixninja alerted jailbreakers via twitter that they should upgrade their devices to iOS 5.0.1 while they still can. If you are one of the many people waiting for an A5 untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 then get ready for the good news to be released. We are pretty sure that developers have already been producing some great tweaks for iOS 5 and Siri are more than ready to welcome some new jailbroken devices into the jailbreak community.
