When the iPad was first released many skeptics claimed that is was just a big iPhone with nothing new to bring to the table. The iPad now comes with 3G technology however and it really was only a matter of time before someone discovered how to literally turn it into a big iPhone.
There have been a couple of attempts so far but nothing that was really worth talking about. It seems though that there is a new app that is about to be released that will in fact turn your iPad into a fully usable communications device. This new app is going to be called Line2 and it is going to cost users $10 a month. There is a week�s free trial also available for those who would like to test it out.
This new app is going to be released on the 28th of July and it will allow you to make calls via built in speaker and mic or by using a wired headset. You will also be able to send SMS messages and listen to voicemail. The app works on both 3G and WiFi and uses VoIP. Subscribers to this app will receive unlimited calls and texts nationwide and they can also port preexisting number or create a new one.
