The untethered jailbreak that has been released for iOS 7, 7.1 and the recently released 7.1.2 may actually contain malware from China. The jailbreak known as Pangu will work on all iOS 7 firmware versions including the newly released iOS 7.1.2 and can be used on both Mac and Windows. But it seems that Pangu has been slammed by hacker and jailbreaker Stefan Esser otherwise known as i0n1c.

Esser has stated that the Chinese team stole some of his ideas and exploits and has described them as thieves and said that the jailbreak contains malware from China.

Pangus tool provides an untethered jailbreak and apparently it has been overlooked by Apple during its most recent update. The release of iOS 7.1.2 just days ago featured minor tweaks and bug fixes but it hasn't addressed the Pangu jailbreak tool.

Jailbreaking allows Apple users to modify the iOS to install apps that havent been permitted via the Apple Store. The Pangu jailbreak was released towards the end of June and it was originally written in Chinese but is now available in English. The first release of this tool also prompted users to download the app store called 25PP, but this has been disabled for English users.

Like the Evasi0n jailbreak for iOS 7, Pangu is fairly easy to use but the one thing we find weird is that in order for the jailbreak to work you have to adjust your devices internal date in the Settings to the 2nd of June and turn of the Set Automatically option. Not much good if you want to use your calendar or check to see what date it is. The tool walks you through everything but we are advising everyone to use it at their own discretion.
